Graphene- and Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Coated Tapered Plastic Optical Fiber for Detection of Lard Adulteration in Olive Oil

Abstract A rapid and high-performance sensor for lard adulterant in edible oil was developed using the tapered plastic optical fiber (POF) coated with graphene multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The coating material deposited onto a POF taper waist diameter length of 0.45 mm 1 cm, respectively. addition used to increase sensitivity selectivity coefficient toward substance. sensing mechanism is based on simultaneous interaction substance an evanescent wave layers. results showed that increased towards from 33.54 324.19, it gave 0.427 dBm/%. In comparison, nanotubes 71.65 its 1.189dBm/%. Thus, proposed configuration offered simple rapid, high detection oils.
